Chocolate: there are two ingredients in chocolate and both of them are too hard for dogs to metabolize. Caffeine and stimulant chemicals. Dark and less sweet chocolates are more toxic and more dangerous for dogs and in so many cases, it can be fatal. Unfortunately, many deaths of dogs reported due to the chocolate consumption.
1-Salt: the overusing in salt can cause a condition that known as salt poisoning in dogs. Another name for this problem is water deprivation. According to the researches by the American college of veterinary pharmacists, a dose of two to three grams per KG of the dog’s body weight, can be toxic and four grams per KG is fatal to them. Please make sure that your dog’s foods or treats are unsalted and natural.
2-Caffeine: caffeine naturally found in coffee, tea and cocoa. Caffeine can be added to medications and soft drinks. Unfortunately, so many cases of death have been reported for using caffeine.
3-Alcohol: alcohol naturally found in many foods and fruits. Most of our daily using products have alcohol. But always remember that alcohol is fatal to dogs and they cannot tolerate even a very small amount. Always be careful about the accidental reaching to your alcoholic drinks.
Also, be careful about the xylitol. This is a sugar alcohol and used in order to sweeten candies, chewing gums and baked goods. These products are safe for human consumption but eventually for dogs will be caused to death by damaging the liver.
4-Grapes and raisins: grapes and raisins are too toxic and dangerous for dogs. even a small amount must be taken very seriously. The usage and consumption of these two, can ultimately be fatal for dogs.
5-For our conclusion: these foods in our list are safe and healthy for human consumption but consider that they are fatal to dogs and please act immediately if you realize about your dog’s consumption of any of these foods.
